The first wedding at Wood Hall was a small intimate one with just over twenty guests, the second wedding was a first for Wood Hall as it was the first time that the wedding venue had been used to hold a Jewish wedding ceremony.

Wood Hall is a great venue in Linton near Wetherby in West Yorkshire. It is set in beautiful grounds overlooking the river Wharfe and make for the perfect backdrop for our wedding photographers to work against.

The wedding photographer designs wedding albums for couples who get married at Hazelwood Castle in Yorkshire and their wedding photography is printed onto large full colour pages which are very wide and measure over 30 inches.

There are several other wedding photography albums which you can view which tell the story of the whole wedding day from first thing in the morning until the evening wedding reception. The Wedding was in October and it was a clear blue sunny day which was perfect for wedding photography. The photographs taken that day came out really well and many were turned into black and white photographs to enhance them.

For Tony Hawkins choosing his wife Pippa’s dress was just one of many tasks in a frantic three weeks as he organised the whole wedding from scratch.

He had to find a venue for the ceremony and reception, organise the cake, invitations, dress, photographer and more to create the dream wedding for he and his bride while being filmed for a BBC TV show.

I use Nikon cameras so my favorite lens for wedding photography is this one.

Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX, It cost me around £900 ($1800) and worth every penny.

All the Wedding photography here was shot with this lens, every single shot.

As this is a fast f2.8 lens I never use flash, even in churches which can be dimly lit, and flash is often not permitted anyway. I may need an ISO of around 400 and shoot at as slow as a 30th/sec. but it has never let me down.

I have never needed anything wider than the 17mm available from this lens and if I need the equivalent of say 200mm, the optics are so good that if I end up cropping an image down to a quarter of the full frame, I can still print at over 20 x 16″ or use that cropped image to produce a double page spread 800mm wide in a Graphi-studio album. Even on my Nikon D200.
